FitHAUS Featured Athlete-Laure Francis

Laure Francis-FitHAUS Featured Athlete

Well, it’s been a little while since we’ve featured an athlete, and we are SO excited to get things started off again with FitHAUS Athlete Laure Francis. Laure has been attending FitHAS since September of 2017!! She has always been hard working and a bright presence in the gym.

Laure, writes in her bio that she made it a goal to spend these years of her life fitter than ever. She also wants to set an example for her 3 daughters that health and fitness are important for women at every age.

Laure, you have blown away so many of your coaches (and fellow FitHAUS friends and athletes) with your consistency, strength, and willingness to work really hard on new skills.

Not only do you always give every workout your best, but are always there to encourage others when they feel tired. We have no doubt that you are an inspiration to your girls. You should be so proud of all of your hard work and accomplishments in the gym. We can tell you it does not go un-noticed, and we are SO PROUD of you.

Keep up the hard work Laure! You’ve got this girl!

Read below to learn a little more about Laure and why she works so hard. Next time you see her in the gym, give her a fist bump.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
While I grew up in MN, my family and I have only lived here for the past 7 years. Previously my husband was stationed in Virginia Beach so we were all residing there. My husband and I have been married almost 19 years and have 3 fabulous daughters: Sammi (16), Kaleigh (13), and Ainsley (11). My hobby is my residential design business, but my full time job is being there for my family (Uber, chef, and cheerleader). Our favorite place to vacation is somewhere warm and tropical, though Covid has definitely put a damper on those trips!

2. What made you decide to join FitHAUS? What were you doing prior to coming to FH?
I've always had working out as part of my life. Whether it was playing sports or just going to the gym, it has always played an important role in my lifestyle. Before joining FH I was at a gym that was too far away and I had to get there early to get a spot in a class. Consequently, it was taking up too much time in my day. Luckily, I had a friend that was going to classes at FH so I decided to give it a try. That was 4 years ago!

3. What is your favorite thing about FitHAUS?

My two favorite things about FH is the encouragement you get from everyone around you and the assistance from the coaches. The person next to you could be lifting twice as much as you but they make you feel just as strong with their enthusiasm. While I was intimidated at first I quickly learned there was no reason to be! The coaches are always there to make sure you are doing the movement correctly to prevent injury or make adjustments if you are still working on "mastering" a movement.

4. What are some of the accomplishments related to physical fitness that you are most proud of. Do you have any fitness goals moving forward? How has being physically active bettered your life outside of the gym?

I started a new fitness goal after starting back in the gym (post covid) which is to spend the last half of my life in better shape than the first half! So far I am accomplishing that goal! My biggest accomplishment has been my strict pull ups and handstand shoulder taps (against the wall). I couldn't even do a handstand a year ago! I strive to show my daughters that it is important to live an active and healthy lifestyle no matter what age you are, and I love that I can set that example for them!

6. What is your favorite class or movement/skill? What is your least favorite movement?

The variety of movements we do is great, but when I see anything having to do with a bar I get nervous! I start thinking I won't be able to do it, but then am quickly reminded after starting the exercise that I am stronger than I think and I can do it! Then the encouragement from the coaches and those around you starts and it's a big group working together to accomplish the exercise!

7. What advice would you give to someone looking to join FITHAUS?

If you are looking for a way to better your life by surrounding yourself with people that are encouraging, hard working, and know how to have fun while doing it then you should give FH a try!
